A new start with a new blog

Hello, Beachvolleyball-Fanatics out there !!
A new season is in the starting blocks and so I start a new blog to give you some news about Beachvolleyball in Luxembourg and beyond its borders. For the new season, I wish you all a very healthy and injury-free summer 2011 being nice and successful.
May the sunny weather always be with you !!
If my old blog "luxbeachvolley.blogspot.com" has not been updated for some 2 years now, this has a reason as I engaged myself, with some helping hands, in the Luxembourg Volleyball Federation (FLVB). But after 16 months of really hard labour to try, inside the FLVB, to bring Beachvolleyball a step forward to a highly
competitive level as well as a leisure sport for everyone, I had to admit soon that this project cannot avoid to be a total failure in the actual situation at the FLVB and that it will be extremely difficult to bring this sport  forwards in our country. The FLVB, not showing a big interest in Beachvolleyball, needs urgently to be renewed in its structures and organisational processes as well as in the composition of its administrative and technical boards. Otherwise, other countries will develop their beachvolleyball activities while the FLVB takes a big nap. And as you well know, in sport when you are not going forward, you are already stepping backwards.
But nevertheless, I continue to believe that everybody who is really motivated can get things going on, even here in Luxembourg - the Schleck-brothers and their Leopard-team have not waited on the Luxembourgish Cycling Federation to move on successfully.
This comparison takes us to the never ending story of the Velodrom, where the Cycling Federation seems to be unable, for whatever reasons that I ignore, to take this important project to a successful end. But the Velodrom-project is not alone - it seems to have a twin-brother: the project of a National Beachvolleyball-Center in Esch/Alzette, which is also on the best way to be forgotten in a dark drawer in a dusty office of the city administration of Esch/Alzette. If the FLVB is not giving a political boost to unlock the situation (must we remind you that the president of the FLVB is member of the city council of Esch/Alzette?), then I ask myself: who will ??
In the meantime, we have to put our neopren-socks on our feet and brave the hard weather conditions here in Luxembourg, and perhaps save some money to participate in a few spring-training-camps in the south.
So keep going on - have a good season,
See you soon on the sand
And have a look regularly on my blog
Thanks,
La lucertola
