After a quite clear game between the two american teams Kerry-Ross and May-Walsh, the great experience of Misty May and Kerry Walsh permitted to control the game and to score some breakpoints at half-time of each set to finally win clearly both sets 21-16 to get their 3rd gold medal in a row.
Especially the extraordinary defense of Misty May (15 digs !!) was a solid foundation for triumphing in the fight for gold.
Silver medal goes to Jennifer Kerry and April Ross, who could not take advantage of their stronger services (70 and 77 km/h against 51 and 58 km/h for May-Walsh).
Finally, in the game for Bronze, the brazilian team Larissa Franca - Juliana Silva won against Chen Xue - Xi Zhang 2-1 after losing clearly the first set 21-11. But they came back in the game and showed, as always, a big fighting spirit.
