New date for the tournament in Wilwerwiltz

The "Jeunesse Kiischpelt" has announced that their yearly Beachvolley-Tournament will take place on the 02nd and 3rd of August, and not, as announced in the Tournament Calendar, on the 09th and 10th of August.

Beachvolley Worldchampionship 2009 in Norway

FIVB President Rubén Acosta announced on Friday that the 2009 SWATCH FIVB Beach Volleyball Men's and Women's World Championships will be hosted in Stavanger, Norway.

The 2009 SWATCH FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships are set to take place over 10 days on two courts from June 26 to July 5 as part of an innovative new tournament formula proposed by Stavanger, with total Prize Money of US$1 Million.

Surprisingly, the Beachvolleyball-Worldchampionship will be organized for the third time in a row in a European country, after Berlin in 2005 and Gstaad in 2007. Great news for european people !!

So, reserve some days of holidays and plan a trip to the south of Norway (+/- 1.400 kms).

See you in Stavanger in 2009 ...

Stormy Season Start in Strassen

Yesterday, 1st March, the new Beachvolleyball season 2008 definitely started in Strassen with our first training session on the outdoor beachcourt. Even if it was a little bit windy, temperature was ok and it didn't rain. Not so bad finally for a first session in march.



It was really big fun to be on the beachcourt again. Thanks to Norma, Jeanne, Dani and Fitti.



Who said Beachvolleyball is only a summer sport??

Beachvolley Indoor: Training sessions continue...

As for several weekends now on, a small group of 6 passionate beachvolleyplayers did, once again, take the time, two weeks ago, to travel to Niederkassel for some pre-season training sessions in the Indoor-Beachvolley-Hall.

But this time we wanted to try something new: a short Training-camp of two days.

So we left Luxembourg on Saturday 14:00 to be in Niederkassel right in time for the first training unit from 17:00 to 19:00, after checking in, in the hotel.

After the first practice, we spent the evening in an excellent Italian trattoria (Il Grappolo - Marktstrasse, 11 - Rheidt), before going to bed quite early.

On second day, the serious one, we did a first training unit from 10:00 to 12:00 and a second one from 13:00 to 15:00.

These 6 hours of training were quite demanding, but the intensity was well chosen for everybody to keep going just to the end. There were exercises to improve technique, without forgetting gameplay.

We all agreed that the 2-day-formula optimizes the relation between the travelling-time and the time on the beachcourts, and is finally more relaxing.

So, more weekends like this will probably follow.
