There are some really great news to announce in these last days of 2008 - the FLVB (Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Volleyball) has found an agreement with a group of motivated beachvolley-players and a new Beachvolley-Commission has been formed inside the structure of the FLVB.
After some weeks, the first results of the new FLVB-Beach-Commission are already visible:
- a brand new FLVB-Internetpage for everything that concerns Beachvolley has been created. This site will officially been launched by the FLVB for the Novotel Cup the next week-end, but is already online. To have a look, just click on the following link: www.beach.flvb.lu
- we have got official confirmation that discussions between the ministry of sports and the city of Esch/Alzette are under way, in order to construct an Indoor-Beachvolleyball-Hall. A working group has been formed and Norma Zambon, as a member of the FLVB-Beach-Commission and well known athlete, will be consulted as Beachvolley-expert.
- the date for the 2009 National Beachvolley-Championship can already be confirmed. After 2008, where no championship coud be organised, for 2009, you can book the week-end of the 11th and 12th July in your agendas for this event. Location and organization details are still in discussion, but more information will be available soon.
So, I invite you to have a look at www.beach.flvb.lu to meet the new Beach-team of the FLVB. For any questions about Beachvolley, they will always be at your service. For any beach-news, this new site will be the right place to get serious and actual information.
As you noticed, my blog was not updated as regularly as it used to be, because a lot of work had to be done for the new FLVB Internet page. But I will keep it alive to give you my personal view of the small luxemburgish Beachvolley world (with some crackling rumours, who knows) - the first adress for brand hot news will be the new FLVB-Beach-site.
